As you know I've been banging on about my boat which hit a rock en route for home from Norway. Well, over the past two months I've been talking to our insurers, Pantaenius, regarding the fixing of hull, leaks and mast damage. They have been unfailingly efficient through the twists and turns of some work being done in one yard, more in another, plus a tricky leak that took a while to track down. They kept me informed of progress by email and phone and the Norwegian surveyor has even found me a local delivery skipper to continue the voyage home.

The job's now done and the boat will soon continue her way home and it has cost me only my excess. One very satisfied customer.

Seriously - good to hear of an insurance company which pulls through when needed...

It's the many stories like this that made me choose the self-same firm. And although their gross premium was the most expensive, they also offered a larger no-claim discount than the competition, and thus were very reasonably priced! Unbelievably, a win/win! Here's hoping they're not about to be bought out by Berthon!
