The RICC (Royal Internet Yacht Club) is now accepting new members. There are no membership dues. The only critereon is that each member must own a boat-even a 'maybe' boat. Membership is simple, just post to this thread with a brief discription of your boat and your cruising area. For those without 'maybe boats' rather the boats that keep us poor and wet a photo is requested if possible.
As this is my idea I will be the self appointed 'Admiral' to start with. You are automatically a member when you post.
The first thing we must do is design our own burgee so lets get busy and start sending in design ideas. The members can vote on the design when we have a few designs come in. We need the burgee!
I figure we can have (I don't know the name but it's when a bunch of boats get together in a certain place) sail- ins or what ever and other events.
For example, I'd like to host the first one in the Gulf Isands B.C.,Canada, where my wife and I sail, in a few weeks. I'll post photos of our destination and I hope as many members as possible can make it via their boat photos etc.
Welcome Aboard!

Well now you've done it! My wife Kathy just said "I guess that means we've got to sail over there now! She would go in a nod.

Attention members.
We have a vice commodore.
His name is Mr. Waterboy and he's in charge of the cars.
The 'R' is at the start of every yacht club I thought so I just stuck it in.

Well I want to be in charge of leaky ill fitted boats that only sail across the bay and back with no discernible quality washboards to whack the Kraken with.
Also would like to be Club Caterer just to see Fat standards are maintained.
Lynn and I are the rough equivalent of Fanny Craddock and Johnny Craddock.

Jim and Lynn are now the offical caterers. You two can only have one official position. The leaky boat position has yet to be filled. Perhaps Ian would like to step forward.
From the Admirals Office.

Help! I cann't figure out where my postings are going/hidden.This is not good for an Admiral. Oh well I guess there's been worse.
I don't understand the 'thread' and 'post' options. I just sent what I thought was a post to Ian but now I cann't find it.
Oh Yeah, you don't get a loonie David because you said "Groucho".

Who is the "Royal" patron of the club? we cannot call ourselves "royal" just like that. But I`m already in the Mobchat club, with my burgee.

When a ship load of Scotish immagrants landed on the shore near what became Montreal a wealthy Scotsman said to a poor Scot "you there, pick up my bags". The poor Scot replied "pick them up yourself, in this country we are all Kings".
So the 'Royal' stands for the collective 'Royal We'.

Agree it has to have an 'R', but in deference to HM (who has just undegone a painful knee operation, whilst cheering up her face with a 2-for-1 freebie) why not make it the Royle Internet?

I see the major positions have already been blagged, but could I be the 'Keeper of the Virtual Wine'?

Is this the first shot in an attempted regime change........

Kim..is this still PBO forum and are you hidding in a hole?

We have no weapons of mass deception on this site nor are we hiding Bill of Ladin.

I would like to put myself forward as Virtual Sailing Secretary and I would like to propose that the membership go on a Virtual Christmas Cruise.

If members have nominations for ports of call, please let us know - virtually anywhere is possible. Once we have some suggestions we can progress to preparing a passage plan that is only limited by our imaginations.

None of this winter weather and/or reality need to enter into it.

Of course, as with all RICC Virtual Cruises, I can guarantee that the weather will be fine and sunny with fair breezes for the duration... unless the members would like a small gale/storm/hurricane whipped up.

So be it Ed. You are oppointed the offical RICC cruising coordinator.
The 'R' now stands for 'Royle'. ('Jim' has yet to receive his appointment).
It's pissing rain here so let's go somewhere warm and sunny.
