Does anyone know how heavy the sinkers are for the Walker Knotmaster?

Mine has the small rotor (about 4" long.) I don't have any sinkers but I'm thinking of making one. I could do a trial and error test, but knowing the weight of the original sinkers would put me in the right ball park.

Thanks: John

Interesting. My rotor is a bit more plastic-y than yours and weighs 115gm

The register is a bit different from what you normally see in pictures, too... It hangs from a kind of hook, rather than attaching to the taffrail.

But that gives me some place to start with the sinker. Thanks!

My sinker is 100.305g and the spinner is 113.285g

Instructions if anybody wants them

That was the KDO Economy Version. It came in a polystyrene box instead of a wooden one and you only got one spinner/sinker/line set with it. Mine cost just under a hundred quid from Duncan's Yacht Chandler in 1987!

it's very encouraging to see a proper balance in use. Down to 5/1000 gm ! Wow, steady hands !

Mine (below)is a souvenir of my last teaching post, and I am going to get round to restoring a really old one found in the cellar of a local Victorian house. (The desk is not where it normally lives :) )

Wow! Last time I used one of those was at school, cerca '63, or poss in a lab in '65. Nice bit of kit.
Used the walker to cross the med in '69. Some fish bit the rotor off half way. Luckily we had the spare. Distance recorded was EXACTLY the rumb line between the two ports. Since the line was at a deep angle most of the way (lack of wind), I somewhat doubt the accuracy.

Now use a kitchen scale good to one gram for the epoxy.
