I'm about to order a new trailer for my Mirror Offshore. I'm slightly unsure about the weight.
When I loaded it onto the current trailer, the crane registered 1.25T (I think. Wish I'd taken more notice but it was tipping down with rain at the time). Sailboat data.com (http://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_id=6882) gives the weight as less than 1T. The registration document says 2.5 tonnes (Thames tonnage which is more to do with internal volume)
I'm minded to go for a 1.5T trailer but a 1.3T is significantly cheaper.
Ho hum. Waddya think?

It will have picked up a bit of weight over the years so 1.25 seems reasonable. What will your car allow you legally? I wouldn't stress too much as the risks of getting stopped are fairly low, but it's another useful guideline & nice if you could stay within the law. 1.5 tons does seem ott, to me anyway. I'd go for the 1.3 t trailer personally.

I've been down the ebay route and wasted 100 quid. All the ones in your link are for RIBS or fishing boats.
Long consideration before deciding on new one. Plus points are: it will fit the boat (triple keels), it will be galvanised, good wheels/brakes/suspension
Minus points: it will cost more than the boat did and I wouldn't get it back if I sold

Just as an indication of how boats in use 'put on weight', my 4.5t designers displacement actually registered 5.4t when lifted earlier this year.
Only normal cruising gear on board.

that's under 20%, so 1t would become 1.2t or as initially suggested 1.25t with a little leeway for error. to require a 1.5t trailer it would need to have put on 50% which would make your boat weigh in at 6.75t - and may show as over her marks somewhat.

I presume you didn't strip her out before the crane lifted her - so you would have been well overweight, just from the gear. I'd be inclined to get the 1.3T trailer and strip her out whilst on the road. Two reasons, the outfit will handle better for the lower trailer weight and the weight added to the towing vehicle will add authority to its control of the trailer. Secondly, remember the Mirror Offshore is built from plywood and over rough ground a piece of gear getting loose could do quite some damage!

Shows my age - I remember the prototypes! Sorry, but I still don't like the possibility of things going flying inside the boat, there isn't any water supporting the panels to absorb any impact. I even tow my caravan empty with all my gear in the boot of the car.
