Steady F7, gusting 8/9, from the north east this evening:(

Several boats attempting to return to Cardiff are sheltering here tonight (and found it uncomfortably exciting surfing into the lock!), and the Brum Navy won't be sticking their noses out of Sharpness tomorrow. One big mobo saw the sea state as the gates opened, asked for them to be closed again, and reversed back into the marina /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Makes it quiet for me though, apart from adjusting lots of fenders and lines and halyards....

Banjos Bank holiday cruise today was all the way across to Mermaid quay where the kids legged it off to the pictures.

I did offer to let them help me spread the anchor chain out on the pontoon to put some depth marks on it but they seemed more interested in the new Indiana Jones film surprisingly.

We went down to the boat at lunchtime intending to take her out, saw the state of the bay and turned round into Morrisons, bought lunch and decided to sit it out for the day.

Still, having lunch on the boat was nice, as was lying on the sunpad for an hour soaking up the rays. Watched a few boats trying to navigate the bay, looked to be ideal rag and stick weather to me /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Big difference between racing with a full crew and sailing with the family aboard.

Didnt seem too bad out there this afternoon but didnt bother sailing ,did a few small jobs on the boat then had a pint .

Must admit there is no fun sailing when it is really rough....the other guys left their boats in Portishead with Damo looking after them! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Hey im in Portishead, didnt you notice the periscope surfing in /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Not telling you which berth i'm on..... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Blowing a hooley here in Bridgend. On my third day of on call. Got sent to a road accident on the M4 yesterday where a caravan rolled over at Margam, and a roof blown off in Maesteg today. Sleeping in my socks again tonight!

By the way just been informed that there will be a fuel protest on the M4 tomorrow. In fact, I'll make a new thread of it.

Take care all,

Lizzy D
