WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
====================
Issued 1430 Thursday 25th May 2006
FRIDAY (see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack0a.gif):
Low pressure clearing into the central North Sea on Friday morning, with the cold front evntually clearing southern coasts of England. The occluded front trailing back through Scotland with a brisk westerly flow following.
A wet morning for much of southern and eastern England, with some heavy bursts of rain. The rain will be more showery through Scotland, although it may linger here until midday.
Through Ireland it should be brighter, although blustery showers are likely on western coasts. A few of these bulstery showers making it through to Wales and west England as the day progresses. IMproving through much of the Midlands, southern England and northern England.
Winds will become mainly W'ly 15-20kt (F5) as the fronts clear, but up to 20-25kt (F6) on western coasts.
SATURDAY (see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack1a.gif):
Low pressure northwest of Scotland through Saturday with high pressure building through the Bay of Biscay. This leaves the way open for a westerly flow through the country. A shallow low cross southern Ireland, Wales and England through the morning.
So a wet morning for much of southern Ireland but soon improving here, although there will be showers. Heavier rain across Wales, central and southern England, this passing eastwards, although probably lingering throughout the day south of the M4.
For Northern ireland, Scotland and NW England there will be sunny spells and showers, most of the showers on the coasts. NE England should be drier.
Winds will be mainly W'ly12-17kt (F4-F5) perhaps 20kt in west and north Scotland.
SUNDAY (see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack2a.gif):
A change will start to take place through Saturday. The flow becomes more northwesterly, although still quite unstable.
There will be showers for much of Scotland, most to the north and west. Further showers too over Northern ireland and northern England, although these will be well scattered.
For the remainder of Ireland, England and Wales it should be largely dry with sunny spells although I can't rule out a shower at anytime.
Winds W-WNW 12kt (F3-F4) in the south, 25-28kt (F6) in the north.
