WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================
Issued: 0900 Thursday 8th November 2007
FRIDAY ( see http://www.weatherweb.net/aviations/charts/AAH.htm and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+36.gif )
High pressure will be centred southwest of Ireland at midday on Friday. A warm front is going to be moving through northern Scotland, with a moist northwesterly flow covering the rest of the UK and Ireland.
For most of England, Wales, Ireland and southern Scotland it will be a dry start to the morning. The breeze may bring a few showers to northwest England and perhaps the north coasts of Wales. Over western and northern Scotland the cloud is going to be thicker, producing some outbreaks of rain here.
The afternoon sees further periods of mainly light rain through the north and west of Scotland, with the east and south tending to stay drier. Over England and Wales, as well as Ireland the sunshine will be hazy in more northern areas, but to the south it will be dry with sunny spells.
Winds will be mainly from the WNW 10-15kt (F4) in the southwest, nearer 20-25kt (F5-F6) in the northwest, and NW 25-30kt (F6-F7) in exposed parts of East Anglia and the far southeast of England at first.
SATURDAY ( see http://www.weatherweb.net/aviations/charts/AAL.htm and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+60.gif )
High pressure continues to be the south of Ireland through the day on Saturday. A brisk northwesterly flow will be covering the whole of the UK and Ireland, with a warm front passing over Scotland bringing warm sector conditions to the north and west.
Plenty of cloud around on Saturday across northern and western areas. There will be spells of rain and drizzle, again these mostly through northern and western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Further cloud and drizzle for northwestern coasts of England and over Wales. Inland the cloud should break with a few sunny spells coming through across the Midlands and southern England, mainly in the afternoon.
Winds will be W-WNW 20-30kt (F6-F7), perhaps to 35kt (F8) in northwest Scotland later.
SUNDAY ( see http://www.weatherweb.net/aviations/charts/AAP.htm and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+84.gif )
Indications of a cold front plunging south again through Sunday. This will be taking periods of rain with it over southern England, and a risk of some gusty winds. Following will be an area of heavy showers as the wind swings into the north.
For northern England and Scotland the day should be brighter with sunny spells, although there will be frequent showers across coastal regions. The showers turning wintry over the hills of Scotland.
Winds into the NW then N behind the front, 15-20kt (F5-F6).
