WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================
Issued: 0900 Thursday 19th April 2007

FRIDAY ( see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn301.png and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+36.gif )
High pressure is going to be centred in the North Sea of Friday. A weak warm front extends through Scotland and into northern England, it may have some cloud on it, but only western Ireland and western Scotland will have rain.
For most of the north of the country it is going to be cloudy, courtesy of that front. Some outbreaks of rain or drizzle in western Scotland and western Ireland. For most of England and Wales it should be a dry day with broken cloud. The exception could be northwest England where some cloud and drizzle could occur on the hills. Watch for low cloud here too.
Winds will be mainly from the S or SE 5-10kt (F2-F3),but SW 12-15kt (F4) over western Ireland.

SATURDAY ( see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn541.png and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+60.gif )
A ridge of high pressure remains across the couth of the country. Fronts mainly affecting the west of Scotland and western parts of Ireland. Little change through the day.
There could be some morning mist or fog patches through southern parts of England, but these will be clearing quickly. The day is then going to be a fine one for most of England and Wales with good spells of sunshine. Western coasts of Wales and the extreme southwest of Cornwall could see some low cloud and a few fog patches rolling off the sea, but generally it should be fair here. A fair day for most of eastern Ireland too.
In western Ireland the cold front will be bringing showery outbreaks of rain and an increasing wind. Much of western Scotland stays cloudy with periods of rain and some of these could be heavy. Eastern Scotland may become brighter, although always with plenty of cloud and a chance of a shower.
Winds SW 20-25kt (F5-F6) through much of Scotland and western Ireland, SW 10-15kt (F3-F4) through northern England and Wales, Generally S 5-8kt (F2) through southern England, but there will be sea breezes along southern and eastern coasts.

SUNDAY ( see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn781.png and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+84.gif )
A more active cold front crosses eastwards through Sunday, although it will be weak through Wales and south of northern England. Overall pressure in the south remains high.
Some showery rain across Scotland and northern England, this possibly extending into Wales. Further sunshine and scattered showers in Ireland, most of them to the north.
A fine start through much of England and eastern Wales, but there will be a threat of a few thundery showers developing as the upper cold front moves in (that the front marked with the hollow triangles on the UKMO chart above). This introduces colder air aloft, destabilises things and hey presto, you have a shower. Most of southeast England and parts of East Anglia are likely to be staying dry, although there will be the threat of thunderstorms later on.
Winds mainly SW 10-15kt (F3-F4).
