Low pressure dominating with a broad southwesterly, returning polar maritime flow over the UK. Fronts moving northeastwards in the flow.
For most places it will be a cloudy start. Low cloud and drizzle affecting western and southern coasts and hills. Heavier showers across western Scotland, some heavy, with a chance of some rain running up the English Channel, associated with the occluded front.
Winds mainly SW 12-17kt (F4, nearer S-SE 8-10kt (F3) trhough much of Scotland.

Low pressure still southwest of Ireland. Increased, mainly southerly flow. Occluded front esging into Ireland.
Plenty of cloud around once again with periods of rain in the west, some of it heavy. INland showers will be developing and some of these may well become heavy and possibly thundery. SE England probably more at risk from these, as well as the far north of Scotland.
Winds mainly S 18-25kt (F5) in the west, 10-15kt (F3) in the east.

The low deepens over southern Ireland. Occluded front passes northwards past northern Scotland as troughs rotate around the low in the flow.
It is likely to be a breezy day, windy in the south and southwest. Rain passing north through Scotland, with heavy showers elsewhere. Most of the showers across eastern Ireland, Wales and southwest England.
Winds mainly S-SSW 20 gust 30kt (F6 gust F7) in the south and southwest, but SE 18-20kt (F5-F6) through Scotland.
