Hi All,
Another one is on the way and I note some of you requesting the forecast, so here goes. Don't forget I will email you the weekend forecast every Thursday (free). You need to send an email to wcsmarine-subscribe@topica.com and you will start receiving the forecast immediately.
So, here goes with the forecast:
SATURDAY:
A fairly deep area of low pressure to the west of Ireland at 988mb. There is a weak occluded front pushing east through the IUK. Thoughts at the moment are that we are looking at light winds through the Englis Channel, probably S around F2. There could be sea breezes in the afternoon, especially in the sun comes out and mainly to the west of the Isle of Wight. Visibility along southern coasts may be a bit of a probale, perhaps moderate for most.
Breezier to the west of the Occlusion with mainly SE-S F3-F4 through the Irish Sea and western Scotland, perhaps more SSW F3-F4 off SW England.
Eastern coasts still under the influence of the high pressure and so more SE F3 here.
Confidence is fairly high with all met. output fairly consistent.
SUNDAY:
More persistent rain along the east coast, misty here too with the occlusion close by. Brighter to the west with a SW flow through musch of the west of the UK and Ireland.
English Channel will have rather variable winds with low pressure over central France, speeds probably not much above F2 or F3.
Showers for Scotland and Ireland, some of them heavy, although better visibility in much of the Irish Sea, western Scotland and Ireland. Winds SE F3 occ F4 in west Scotland.
**ends**
Cheers,
Simon Keeling
