WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
===========================

Issued 1700 Thursday 25th July 2013

Saturday:
Low pressure is in control of conditions through Saturday. A thundery trough will be moving north out of France in the afternoon, and this is ex[ected to bring thundery rain northwards through the UK during the evening and overnight into Sunday.
All a bit of a mess for Saturday, but lets have a go! The morning is likely to be mainly dry with sunny spells and will be feeling warm. Some showers could occur across Wales, NW England and Scotland as well as Ireland. Cloud increases across southern England with some rain onto southern coasts by lunchtime (timings are uncertain so check the latest forecast).
The rain then turns more persistent on southern coasts through the afternoon, becoming thundery too. Outbreaks of rain into the Midlands and east Anglia by the evening, again these increasingly thundery. Be aware of deteriorating visibility as this rain arrives.
Most of northern England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland will have sunny spells and many areas will be dry, although some showers could occur on hills.
Winds mainly E 12-16kt (F4) in the south, SE 10-14kt (F3-F4) in the north.

Sunday:
Again the pressure pattern is a bit of a mess for Sunday and so the forecast detail may change. However, a thundery trough passes north through the night reaching northern Scotland by evening. Drier weather follows from the south as a weak ridge builds.
Some heavy rain and poor visibility across northern England and Scotland on Sunday morning, the risk of some thunderstorms too. Showers across Wales and western parts of England, Wales and Ireland. The showers may be heavy.
Drier weather reaches England through the afternoon fro the south bringing sunny spells and drier conditions.
Winds E-SE 10-14kt (F3-F4) in Scotland, S 12-15kt (F3-F4) to the south.
