WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
===========================
Issued 1600 Thursday 13th September 2012
Saturday:
A ridge of high pressure is expected to be across the south of the country through Saturday. The west to southwest flow will be stronger through Scotland with a warm front passing east, this introducing warm sector conditions here.
It should be a fair morning for most with good spells of sunshine for central, southern and eastern parts of England and Wales. Thicker cloud across Scotland where there will be some light rain in the north and west with visibility poor here.
Ireland should be fair too, although cloud increasing in western parts later in the day as a front approaches off the Atlantic.
Winds mainly WSW 11-14kt (F3-F4) in the south, but SW 20-25kt (F6) in northern Scotland.
Sunday:
High pressure remains across southern England on Sunday. A series of fronts will be tracking through northern England, Scotland, Ireland and then into Wales, with an unstable southwest flow following through Scotland.
The fronts will bring some rain, this heavy at times, into northern England, Ireland and southern Scotland in the morning, this reaching Wales in the afternoon.
Most of southern England should be staying dry into the evening with some reasonable spells of sunshine here.
Brighter weather follows to northern and western Scotland where there will be some showers. It will be windy here too.
Winds mainly W-SW 18-25kt (F5-F6) in Scotland, SW 10-12kt (F3) across southern England and SW 14-17kt (F4-F5) elsewhere.
