Following fromt the west will be a more unstable flow. This bringing showers with it, some of them heavy on the coasts, and the threat of some thunder too. INland the showers should be more scattered, but again a few could be heavy.
A windy day, winds W 20-25kt (F5-F6) for most, but 25-30kt (F7) on western coasts and through the English Channel with gusts in excess of this. mainly W 12-14kt (F4) in northern Scotland.

A weak ridge of high pressure over the east of the UK Sunday morning brings a fair start to the day. This should allow for some sunny spells for most, with good visibility, high cloud bases and lighter winds.

This cloud and rain spread steadily east with latest timings suggesting an arrival into western Scotland and west Wales by midday, then into the rest of Scotland, northern England, the Midlands and SW England through the afternoon. The far southeast should stay dry although with increasing cloud.
