I realise its early days, but xc weather is forecasting gusts of over 50 knots over Saturday night!

Hopefully this will all have changed by the end of this week - could really do with a gentle force 2-3.

Hope it's better than that , I would like to be in Burnham Sunday afternoon / Monday morning , wind guru is showing 4/5 knts for Monday .

we're supposed to be heading for Ramsgate on Saturday but it's not looking good with F5 gusting 6 forecast all weekend. Bloody typical

The weather will be fine, my boat is still on the hard.
There may be some weather effect due to the application ofa cut and polish to the hull though.

Wind guru has lost the strong winds now - seems to be daily changing though. Hard to plan a down wind trip to my destination

I've got club 'safety boat duties' this Saturday :-(

Was hoping for a bit of light breeze and some sun so I can chill out, a blow, in my experience, usually means hassle.

Maybe racing peeps wouldn't tack right up the beach on a falling tide if they had to wait for 6 hours in a day boat with no tea/toilet facilities to get off again......

The 'safety boats' add too much 'safety' and encourage this behaviour!

Yep, that goodness.

When I looked last night all the usual suspects were showing very strong winds from the North West overnight. Fingers crossed for the weekend as I have a trip down to the Medway in the diary.

What forecaster to believe ?!

Weatheronline is showing much reduce winds Thursday onwards. Metoffice Ramsgate 5-day forecast shows isolated gusts of 30mph around 13:00. XC Weather is also showing reducing winds.

Was planning to leave FYH tomorrow, now postponed 24hrs, heading for Ramsgate/Dover then N.France ports thru' to St Vaast/Cherbourg. Need lighter winds as short handed !!

I presume you've just lifted out this week then? Otherwise how do you explain the weather at the end of last week? We came home from the Netherlands on the Stena Hollandica as we didn't fancy the forecast F7-9 on the nose in Santana. Back again to collect her from Middelburg over the bank holiday weekend
