We set off on Saturday mid day ... approx at LW, so we could arrive at our destination, Whitehills, a small Marina in the Morray Firth on a rising tide.
The day was just beautiful, so we tumbeled around at 9 - 10 knots for an hour or so, just enjoying being at sea and the weather. Unfortiunately, I have not comissioned the controls on the flybridge yet, but that is now a priority.
After having tumbeled around a while, we pulled up to about 18 knots, the engines purring quite nicely, with stable gauges and all that.
Swung by Pennan, made famous by the film, Local Hero, but did not enter, or drop the hook ... that will have to be for another time.
We continued close to shore, as our daughter is doing some school work on coastal erosion..., towards Whitehills, which was about 10 NM away here...
And entered Whitehills Marina, which is a bit tight, but very sheltered indeed, with friendly people and a very welcoming Harbour Master.
We went for a walk in and around Whitehills, where we found a wonderful craft shop and a nice small hotel with a pub, where we had a nice meal. We left the pub near sunset and went down to the waterfront to sit and just enjoy the spring evening.
Feeling very tempted to head straight West into the setting sun ....
We spent two nights at Whitehills exploring a bit and just enjoying our first boating week-end of the season, doing no maintenance, or fixing at all.. ooh well, I did do some work, but nothing big really,... just installing a fixed TFT monitor for the PC Nav station.
Journey home yesterday was just more of the same as above, with a small swell picking up for the last 45 minutes of the journey.
