Webasto Woes

Airtop 5000: System starts/fires up normally then the blower slows a bit, goes up a bit, slows....... eventually flashing 8. Happens in both hot and cold modes. Nothing blocking air intake and the fan spins freely (by hand)


Flashing 8; so Fan motor interrupt or fan motor short circuit
or fan motor overload or blocked

and also:

F 08 Drive unit (combustion and hot air blower) break or short circuit

Break or short circuit to +Ub
The switched drive unit cable (combustion and hot air blower) has a
short circuit to earth or the drive unit is overloaded
Burner motor block guard has tripped
Burner motor not turning easily sensor has tripped


Replace drive unit (combustion and hot air blower)
Eliminate the cause of the blockage /

difficulty in movement
Replace drive unit (combustion and hot air blower)

Recommendations as to who to use to complete diagnosis and fix as required - boat close to Chichester
