I need to remove my Webasto heater from the boat to replace the glow plug. The fuel supply for the heater is tapped off the primary fuel filter which is shared with the engine. If I disconnect the fuel line to the heater, leaving the heater fuel pump in place, will I risk introducing an air lock into the engine fuel line?- I don’t anticipate running the engine until the heater is connected up again. Any hints and tips on this procedure welcome, as well as replacing the glow plug.

Very unlikely just be quick with a finger before plugging it off.

I know stating the obvious but you might do well to install a seperate line and in line disposable filter while it is out, but you may need to tap the tank.

Replacing the Webasto glow should be very straight forward, mine is a Ebber, so it may be slightly different but there are good you tube tutorials. A full service does require more skill and is almost better left to a service agent as it is not costly especially if you take the removed unit there, well worth doing if it hasnt had a service for some years and you have gone to all the effort of taking it out.
