Does anyone have experience of using Weaver davits on the stern of a modern sailing yacht? I am considering them on my Sun Odyssey 40 but would like to know if anyone has carried a dinghy on them in any kind of sea state.

I would tactfully suggest that they are under a much greater load from bouncing around on smaller powerboats - especially given the poor ergonomics often seen as a result of funny bathing platform heights etc
biggest issue I have is that my second tender is a full foot longer than the width of the transom and this does concern me in any sea at any speed because the forces that come into play from green water hitting the bit sticking out at 20 knots are significant - ie if the tenders short enough you should be fine. As long as you have good lift from the stern in a following sea that should be fine too - and if you haven't you probably can't fit the tender across the transom anyway.
Finally you can get the pads 'professionally' bonded on by some firms for even more security although mine have already survived 2 craft crashing across my stern and trying to rip the tender off that way using normal 2 part glue.
Overall great piece of kit that really helps make boating more fun.
