For many years we have staretd our annual cruise in June.

Either middle or end, and have always been in luck with wind and sunshine.

This year looks though we are going to be unlucky. With forecasts of wind and rain for the next week, or destination of Guernsey is going to be out of our reach.

We hope to be able to postpone for either a fortnight or month, and just hope this dreadful weather improves.

Just wonder how many others plans and dreams have run aground...................

Farming moan: 50% of our usual hay crop is still growing in the ground. This means the undergrowth (the grass stems at the bottom) will be brown from lack of sunlight, and of little food value. The top growth is now past the seeding stage, and wind and rain have flattened large chunks of the crop, which will make mowing very difficult. We may have to bring in contractors to turn the whole lot into sileage, and this will mean the feeding regime for the in-barn sheep will have to be completely changed from our "natural" system, to a mechanised one. Probably it will put about £2 to £3 perhead on each lamb cost, and the market price will remain the same.

Oh, sailing, ah yes. Ooops, sorry, I forgot this is The Forum. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wots the point.....

I figure the boat is costing me about £500 per mile so far this season.

We've written off another weekend this weekend...

V V dissapointed, and /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif getting quite angry.

Was out on Monday with Ellen MacArther in the Solent, both cameras now trashed, 40knts and solid rain. What can I say?

Re: Pharming Today

No, but a common denominator is Eastbourne.

"early oors" is what the staff do in the week, and what I do when I get back from the day job at the w/e. Not that we start much before 5 in any case /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Call me smug, if you like, but Freestyle started her Scottish jaunt at the end of May and caught all the best weather so far this year. We were a bit short of wind mind.

Looks a bit different for this weekend's trip to Ireland. But you can't have everything.

I have a confession to make....

Next week we commence our annual 2 week cruise to potter around th Channel islands fo the third year running.

Last night after looking at the longer term weather forecats my despair forced me to visit lastminute.com for an alternative.
