I would like to learn a little more about weather forcasting. Are there any suggestions of what books I should read? I don't want to be a TV weather man. I would just like a little more of an insight.
Simon Keeling who post weekend weather on these forums runs weather classes for a fee. I belive his next one is September. More details at http://www.weatherschool.co.uk

It takes you from A to Z ... and is THE book that taught near all Ships Officers for years and years ... My copy is 1967 ! which is 6 yrs before I went to sea ! But still going strong. Probably had a few revisions since then ... (wish I had !)
Today's Guardian has a supplement (intro by Sir R K-J) with a superb centre page illustration of fronts, lows, clouds, etc. More than you would get on the average Yachtmaster shorebased course.
