Anyone in the Ionian at the mo? I have just checked the weather site and it is stating temperatures well into the 90's for the next few days..Is it as hot as this?

Was pretty hot last month and the hottest we've known was 42.5c in Zakynthos a couple of years ago.

After all it IS Greece!

Most Brits leave their boats alone for July & August. We are going out next on 15th September and will probably find the portlight seals welded to the perspex.

The eerie time is the end of October when the water is warmer than the air.

We have had rain once in August, round about the 10th, The weather at the mo is 35c rising to 38/39c over the weekend, about force three/four. the usual n/w gusts to 5/6 for an hour, early evening, then calm. This is from kefalonia.

Have you tried www.poseidon.ncmr.gr/ , excellent site for a three day look ahead, especially good with detail on the winds since it shows where the wind channels around headlands and islands.

You'll also note that it is always cooler at sea. Common sense really. The water temperature doesn't get above 25C, so if there's a reqsonably long sea track for the wind, you'll be cool. If it's come off land, it could be like sitting in a hair dryer at 40 to 44c!

Thanks all.. just wanted to confirm what the web page indicated...we are back out on Sept 4 ...hope it stays sunny..but not too sunny. It was predicting 98 F for Sunday in Aktion ...p**sing down in Glasgow at the Mo Cheers !!
