Just wondering if anyone could shed light on a few queries I had relating to what seems like a useful weather forecasting service:
1. In the reeds almanac the marinecall texts to 83141 start with AC yet marinecall's website say MC? Is the AC for the publishers Adlard Coles to get the money for the same service? Do both work?
2. Page 86 of the 2007 almanac shows sea area 19, Channel Islands and suggest you can get a forecast but texting AC guernsey etc doesnt give me a message. And these locations aren't listed on the marinecall website. Have these locations been stopped?
3. My phone a Nokia 6233 normally receives and sends picture messages (Which I thought were MMS messages) but I cant get a reply using the AC MMS Yarmouth for example (and the channel island locations for that matter...) to try to gte the more detailed forecasts.
Any experience of this would much appreciated. If none I'll phone marinecall tomorrow and ask their cust. service dept.
I am reluctant to try lots due to the costs involved!
Many Thanks,
Richard
n.b I read about metmarine and obviously their texts cover the French areas so I can use that, I just wanted to check out Marincall's service.
