A question for the experts out there.
Looking at the North Atlantic weather charts for the last weeks it seems that one of the reasons for the constant high winds is that the lows don't seem to be moving to the East in the way I'd expect them to. There seems to have been the same low stuck over N Scotland for the last and next week for instance.

Hence constant SWesterlies without the 'normal' respite till the next one comes through.

Have I just misunderstood - not uncommon - the way the general flow should work - or is something different happening?
