Having asked the question on this forum about transporting my boat to Scotland via road, I took the advice of another forumite and sailed her from Gosport to Inverkip with stops at Falmouth and Dun Loaghaire. My Opo Bruce and I had a very entertaining trip just before Easter, starting with a Force 8 Gale warning, sailing in F6-7, and then a flat-calm leaving Dun Loaghaire.

Look at some of the clips and pictures from the journey, at:

Hi, and thanks for the welcome. We arrived at Kip at 15:00 on 6th April, in glorious sunshine. The area looks like it will be a fantastic cruising ground for the Summer. Passing Ailsa Craig at 200metres on a sunny morning was quite something. This was only equalled by the two large (by Southern standards... huge) Highland Parks at the Inverkip Hotel for the paltry sum of £6.38. If we hadn't been so tired, it would have been quite a night.

I second Camerons remarks....a very good welcome to the UK's best ( erm sorry worst, after all we dont want it looking like the Solent) cruising grounds.

Enjoy your stay and the cruising company that you may meet.

Good luck.

Paul.
