According to "my" club magazine the Commodore of the Penton Hook Boat Club and his lady wife paid us a visit recently at the Annual dinner dance.
This was I believe a proper black tie do and would probably explain why that particular evening a certain motley crew were propping up the bar in the clubhouse eating a takeaway when we went round last week.We fell in rather nicely.

More Medway updates HERE....Wonder if all the money is gone yet shame to leave any might get squandered of other rivers:)

"Blimey, according to RCC web site photo gallery, the last event was in 2007"

Perfect example of the lighting speed the interweb can achieve when things are urgent.

A very active club club now also trying to get permission to lay some extra moorings, presently a 4 year waiting list.Suprisingly no objections so far with tentative agreement fom council and other organisations with watery interests.

They have apparently been "mail shotting "? Thames clubs in an attempt to persuade you lot to come down and take advantage of us and our facilities.

Irritation is that when RCC come on the Thames, those Clubs with moorings provide free berths. When those Thames Clubs visit the Mudway RCC charge them.

Hmmm, thats a bit rich, will make a few discrete enquires.

I paid last time I visited (and the time before) but although it was several club boats we went in a private capacity rather than as a formal club visit. It was a tenner a night ISTR, given the location and facilities I reckon that's damn good value.

If it was on a fomal club vist basis I'd expect a nuppence mooring fee, but might expect to front something for electricity as that seems normal.

I think the charges were brought in by UTMYC because of the inequality. They were hospitable to any club. It became a bone of contention that others did not reciprocate.
