It is not free for me to use the YBW forum. Like most skippers I use PAYG and the download cost of video style adds is very considerable. Only 5 minutes on this forum will debit me over 20 Mb. I must limit my visits to a few a week and not linger on threads I once found interesting. I am not sure whether add blocker will cut this down as I may have to pay for them anyway.

An adblocker will stop the ads using your PAYG data. I use uBlock.

I disagree, the site is still free but it’s just the deal you have with your surf that is “crap”. If you were in a restaurant/bar/cafe with free WiFi then it wouldn’t be a problem for you....

It is an advertisers dream come true. Send out adverts and make the recipient pat for the delivery. Somebody pays, whether me or someone else's WiFi.

Thanks I will try an adblocker. Last year while sailing in Greece I ran out of Telia Bytes without me noticing so when I tried to pay some bills on my house at home I was not able to get on line to access my bank. I got a few warnings that the café WiFi was unsecured with an out of date certificate (whatever that was). It took a lot of hassle to pay the bills inside the deadline. So thanks for the info. I hope it works.
