We've decided to buy Grey Dawn. Thanks to all for your support and comments in the run-up to making this big decision. The Nigerian who sold us the boat was really nice and had all the proper papers.
Watch from space as we begin a life of sailing around the world on a chunk of concrete.
It hasn't sunk in yet[boom boom]
Thanks one and all for your invaluable help.

When did a Nigerian slip into the picture?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I must have mised something. Still, ferro or not it looks like a nice boat and I hope it gives you loads of pleasure and keeps you safe.

I was jesting about the Nigerian. Thank you to all who PM'd me warning me about the scamming buggers.
The boat has all it's papers and a mast. It's a beaut and we are very happy and excited about this new life that will be lead.
I'm so happy that I might even take up smoking.

I thought the Nigerian reference was more subtle: to the ships carrying cement off Nigeria which spent so long at anchor while unable to discharge their cargoes that the contents of their holds became solid lumps of concrete and so they were scuttled. or sank

Of course that put the unprotected ferro outside the concrete rather than safely protected inside it

Glad somebody bought her. We looked at her and thought she looked great, but we bottled out over the RCD implications if we brought her back to Europe. We've since bought a ferro boat in the UK and are setting off on our first shakedown cruise in two weeks time - five weeks in Ireland. Still panicking over the job list tho...

Don't ever say rabbit on your new boat.....and talking of superstition, you'd be wise to ditch the green covers on those loungers! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
