As I go along in the water spray at the back of the boat hits areas like the back of the seats and the back of the bimini top. In the summer I stand insde the boat with the hose on spray and wash all salt off, as the weather gets colder I stopped doing this and used a cloth on the seats. As I was not doing the top, the zips on the covers changed colour to a white in places Im sure due to salt. I have a replacement cover and do not want to do the same again.

Is there anything that comes in a bottle or I can make up to spay in areas like the zips to get rid of salt. This time of year I dont like spraying too much water inside

With all the experience out there Im sure something works.

Thanks

Try using water with a little detergent, applied by a small sponge: keep going until the zip moves without forcing it too much.
After it dries off, try treating a plastic zip with a teflon-based spray-on lubricant, which also helps keep water out.
If the zips are metal, not plastic, they may be already too corroded to open without breaking. In that case you could try ACF 50 (from m/cycle dealers or internet) and leave it for a few days to weaken the corrosion before trying to open the zip.
It has worked for me on mattress-cover zips.

When you put the bimini covers in a large tub with fresh water (I use my swimming pool) for a day or so, the salt gets the time to disolve in the water,
then have it drying and when it is completely dry, I put silicon spray on the zippers, and move them a couple of times.
This has worked succesfully for 3 years now
