Waveline su 2.8

Looking at buying a Waveline su 2.8 metre for a tender. Any tips on a suitable outboard please? We thought about a 3.5hp but need to stow it horizontal in engine space as only place available. Heard conflicting stories about not stowing it horizontal but unsure if we stood vertical for a while and fabricated a platform to lift it of the horizontal if that would be okay? Any comments either on the Waveline or what outboard to buy would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a RibEye 2.7m, with a Yammy 6 hp outboard. Over the winter this stores happily on my garage floor horizontally, without losing either petrol or oil. No smells either when transporting in the car.

Thanks rafiki. That's helpful I will look at the Yammy. Does it matter which way it is laid down? Someone at our marina this afternoon says if you lay outboards horizontally they need to be a certain way, but he wasn't sure which?

I think there is a preferred side, but with the tiller handle it is best to lay it on the stbd side.
