Yesterday while heading from Cowes to Southampton I passed a procession of large displacement motor boats going the other way, heading for Cowes. It was an impressive sight. There were around 15 boats, mostly Netherlands flagged, in an orderly line.
I did try to give a friendly wave but each skipper was concentrating on following the boat in front rather than looking around. If you bump into them in port and get chatting, I’m keen to learn what route they are taking on their rally.
