Wave stream bilge filters

I need to fit a couple of wave stream filters @ £229 each to my boat for the Boat Safety Examination, anybody know of a cheap supplier or cheaper alternatives? I really don't want to fit trays as would be major job.

I don't trust those wavestream filters as they block up too easily, I would prefer a tray.

Or I fit rubber trays under the engines, do you that would be OK with the boat safety examiner?

Mine has a tray under the engine, not an issue for the BSS.

Yes, have fitted a few and found at over time the filters block easily and end up being removed just leaving the outer housing. From my experience I wouldn't trust one.

+1. When we had to fit one for the same reasons, found it killed flow rate.

That's interesting. The filters are lloyds approved so would have thought that might mean something. Their website also says that they do not block with oil etc, although I guess they would say that.
