I always go to the mayflower park fireworks by boat, tying up to the residual boat show pontoons. It’s not on this year sadly.
I have guests with children next weekend and want to see some fireworks. Can the Netley abbey ones be seen from the water? Are there any other waterside firework displays nearby?

Yes, they will be able to be seen from the water. Don;t be tempted to go by car, its a traffic nightmare.

Yarmouth?

Just for info there are none at Gunwharf this year. Apparently there's a light show instead.

i believe there is a Cunard one from a barge off marchwood on sunday this week. i can dig out the details if you like. think its planned between 17.15 and 17.45 on sunday 3rd?

At Netley, they usually launch the fireworks from immediately NNW of the chapel.

There's some trees in your way, I reckon you want to be as close in as you can be, between S and SSW of the chapel for a good line of sight through.

Look out for lots of unlit stuff round there.

(I lived on the shore of Southampton Water for 45 years so I know it fairly well!)

great info thanks.

it's going to be a bit windy and the view is restricted, so we are going to warsash so thanks fro that tip AllanG.

I spoke to them and they let the fireworks off on their jetty so it will be a great view from mid river I reckon. We are in hamble point for the weekend so we will dinghy across and do it from the land I think.

At the bottom of the ramp by the ketch rigger - I don't know anyone in HP afaik - if you are about say hello.

Supposed to be skippering a sea trial tomorrow. XC recons f9 gusts so we've called it off. It should have died down to a mere f7 by 8pm but I do wonder if the fireworks will happen.

I’ve just been informed by a member of Warsash Sailing Club that they’ve postponed their fireworks display until the 9th November, which makes sense looking at the forecast.
