Waterproof lazybag - yes/no?

I think waterproofing in this context doesn't mean making it airtight. It just means that the cover itself won't get saturated and stay wet for ages. Waterproofing makes the water bead and roll off keeping the threads of the cover dry but just as 'porous' to air molecules. It won't do any harm but may not be necessary.
