Waterproof Lanterns and tourches.

over the last few months I have been looking for a waterproof lantern for my cockpit and to use as a all round white anchor light.
I bought one of those led WATER RESISTANT made in china jobs at the boat show, with a bit of sekaflex it does do the job, I just came across these and they are great. (and a UK based company)

Very interesting as I haven't sorted this requirement myself yet. However, 15 hours charging for 4 hours use is a real pain.

The superspotlite thingy which I have for groping my way home in the dark (sorry Ma'am) requires that but it doesn't get used verymuch. Another gizmo with the same requirement? Certainly doesn't equate when an anchor light has to last for 15 hours at this time of year.

I still feel the best solution would be a traditional paraffin-fired lamp but they all look, and cost, like antiques.

I expect this is waterproof as is mine of a similar design but different brand name, and they are good.

For camping we had the remote type but don't waste your money as they operate fine from the hand held remote but in the 'off' mode, they remain on standby and quickly flatten the batteries

I was lucky enough to win an LED anchor light in Alistair's charity raffle earlier this year. So far it has proved excellent and as it uses about 1.5 amp hours over a long night there is no problem running it off the boat's domestic battery.
