Hi all

I am in the process of a hobby yapp and whant to connect things to a raspberry pi in a plastic box.

Any suggestions for some plug/sockets so that.i can plug in;

- power 12v from battery less than 1A
- level sensor

No need for any IPX rating, just something robust.

Ta.

I had to replace a broken plug/socket to a wheel pilot and was amazed at the price wanted. I did away with the Raymarine option and soldered a cable to the motor, leading out to an external connection. Seems to be robust. Not exactly what you are wanting, but might be easier to have the connector outside the box than fitted to it if water ingress is not a problem.

These are the kinds of things I used:

Also did the same with a compass light wire.

Check the size of the connector you purchase. My first one was far too large.

I've used some of those M14 IP68 ones on a prototype dive light, I potted them with epoxy and they work happily down to 20+m so should be OK on deck just replace the O rings with some decent ones.

There are panel mount versions around as well and you will also see them with all sorts of IP ratings for the same product.
