Never had an inboard engine before so please bear with me on this one.
Last week I purchased a used Freeman 24 with the above Engine and a Borg Warner hydraulic box.
She came at the right price because she has some work needing doing, one of these jobs is a blown core plug.
Without turning on the sea cock and running the engine i have searched for her core plugs but only found the 2 on the port side of the block.
Can anyone tell me where i should be looking for any others, and how many this motor has.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Its a SEA PANTHER not a sea falcon.

Hello,
I had two core plugs go in quick succession both under the heat exchanger stbd side. Both pretty easy to do if you get stuck I can track down the size but from memory I bought a multi pack and one fitted. First one went whilst cruising so I drained down the water and sealed it with a stiff mix of chemical metal which got me home no probs.
Do you have a blue or red Sea panther ? Great engine in my humble once you know how they tick.

Cheers, Colin.

Thanks Colin, Yes i have found the 2 on the side of the block, they are quite exposed and would be a cinch to replace. Unfortunately its none of those two which are popped. I used a mirror and torch to scan around the engine but could not see any others.
I may end up turning on the sea cock and cranking her up to see where she blows from, but i was hoping to avoid that if possible.
My sea panther is the red one. (nice contrast with a sea green Borg Warner box!)

Hi,
No problem. Coming back to me now. Think there are two each side of the block, One to the rear of the block and poss another to the rear of the head.

Cheers, Col.

It is watermota diesel conversion of a ford petrol engine as I recall may have been ford crossflow ?

Yes, it is a 1600cc Kent crossflow. From memory there is a core plug at the rear of the block and head as well as the ones on the side of the block. invariably the one at the back was the one that failed because it was the one you could not access with the engine in the car (sods law and all that).

Of course it isnt a Kent, they only went from 1.0 - 1.6L
I suspect Watermota used the ford 1800cc CVH block for the conversion, but i could be wrong.
