My self put together watermaker used JB Guest push fittings. The watemaker was not run for 18 months and leaked like Versailles water gardens on switch on. It seems that pickling fluid eats JB Guest bsp fittings (but not NPT fittings - info from Guest technical dept). I have it all running again with new fittings but want to use 613 stainless fittings for the 6mm and 10mm tubing in future.

I don't really know what type would be appropriate. Some are pretty expensive, others not so.

Any pointers welcome.

I sourced stainless tubing, 10mm, from a supplier of tubing to the pharmaceutical industry. I explained what I was doing and they also supplied matching compression fittings. It was not that expensive - but I don't recall being shocked - it was a long time ago.

I would go and have a chat to you local hydraulic hose guys, 316 stainless compression fittings do vary a lot in quality.
