So yes, this is a bit of a shameless plug, not for me though, for my father. He is an artist who works closely with the UK RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution). He specialises in watercolour renderings of maritime rescues based on reports given by the rescuers themselves. He has a three-part series of books which act as a collection of these events, giving original depictions as well as the reports themselves.

All very interesting stuff which I thought I might bring to your attention, giving the nature of the forum I thought you might find it interesting.

Thirty four timeless watercolours painted by Mick Bensley providing a nostalgic view of the beautiful county of Sussex. The Paintings offer a wide variety of bygone scenes and many seascapes are featured reflecting Sussex's strong maritime heritage. Bob Copper's verse perfectly captures the atmosphere and the mood of the watercolours.

If you're interested you can also purchase some of his original works at the latter site.

So that pretty much wraps this up, I just thought this might be the place where there might be some interest for this sort of series.
