Water temperature

You may remember I posted a couple of weeks ago about accumulator pressure. I'm glad to say I recon I've got the pressure sorted but I'm still suffering with a massive temperature fluctuation as the pump and accumulator take it in turns to push the water around my system. I have a brand new thermostatic mixer valve installed just by the hot water tank and a 2litre accumulator fitted just by the Jabsco pump.
As the pressure at the tap changes due to pump or accumulator pushing water the temperature fluctuates massively from all cold o all hot. Changing the setting on the mixer valve does not solve the problem. Would fitting the mixer valve at the heads tap/ shower possible give a smoother temperature? I've got to sort this as the shower is now un usable.

What make and type of mixer valve did you fit?

I would check that you haven't inadvertently connected the hot and cold the wrong way round.

I'll have a check and maybe try it with the mixer removed.

I have a similar setup with the mixer valve on the HW tank outlet. When hot & cold are mixed when water comes out through the valve and you get warm water. That's exactly what is meant to happen (why it's called a mixer valve).

I can't see how you'd get slugs of hot and then cold water in the system if the valve is working (warm would have to magically sep. back to hot & cold). Sounds very much as if the problem lies within the mixer valve.

Check that it has been connected properly as suggested above. If it is installed correctly then I'd say the valve is probably faulty (alternating between full hot and full cold.

Only other thing I can think of relates to the valves pressure setting allowing it to switch between full cold and full hot in time with the pump pressure rising and falling. That would be wierd, especially as you have a pressure accumulator (designed to level out pressure pulses).

I had a look at the valve from your link, does not tell me anything as there are no specs. What I would suggest is that you disconnect the pipe on the outlet of the valve which is going to the pump and see if you can control the temp of the water at the outlet.
