water tanks gaskets

Thanks to all your good advice, I think I got the best solution for my diesel tank tops (cork+blue stuff).
Now, I think the cork gasket mounted dry is probably good enough for the water tanks, and I don't mind trying (a little spilt water is nothing compared to diesel!!!) but if I need some compound in between, what is suitable for drinking water?

RTV silicone has always been OK for me. Try not to be too liberal with it, the small blobs that fall off block the valves in the water pump.
