In my installation of a second water tank, I need to work out where to place the outlet.

Is it best to have it low down at the base of the tank so that gravity helps the water but you have a risk of leaks?

Or do you have it on top and have a feeder pipe going to the bottom of the tank?

I think the second is best

On mine under the forward bunk I hve the outlet at the bottom aft face with a ball valve to isolate it.ll

Doesn't make any difference to performance of the pump, once it's primed. Having the top mount avoids any likelihood of leaks.
