Hi Guys,

Enjoyed going out this weekend in my Regal 1800 but soon want to do some wakeboarding! Can the silver ring on the back take a wakeboard (i.e. the stresses etc.). Unsure as the manual does not clarify and I imagine that waterskies would not drag as much as wakeboards?

We use a pole as its a bit more secure than having the rope round the ski ring as the end of the rope clips onto the pole, but shouldnt make much difference...you'll also need a bit more initial power on "pulling out" a wakeboarder than a skier.

Sunseeker – You’ve just caught onto my train of thinking (spooky)/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif - I was wondering whether there was a pole that would attach to the ring to elevate it slightly? Is this your set-up?

Ski ring will be fine as far as strength is concerned for pulling skier/board or ring, I've done all 3 on 3 boats with no problems.

If you start wanting to do bigger jumps then you may find you want a wakeboard tower/pole but these tend to be fairly expensive, if your a novice then a few seasons at teh lower height won't be a big deal!

As others have said the ring is fine - I find that with all that surface area I pop up out of the water with hardly any pull from the boat at all ......trying to drag my lardy @rse out of the water on a mono ski though is a whole different ball game !

There will be far more 'stresses' on your eyes and cheekbones the first time you catch the leading edge of a wakeboard and 'faceplant' !
