Water pump

The Yanmar raw water impeller pump on my Yanmar engine needs a new rubber to stop it leaking. The rubber seal looks almost impossible to replace and I think it might mean a whole new body to stop me wondering if it is going to pack up next time we're out. New Yanmar pump - they reckon is to be in the order of £300. Anybody any idea who else could supply compatible pump - Jabsco do not.............

You can get a Kit, seals and shaft. still quite expensive.

Have a look here You might find it very useful. Got one on our water pump and its a nice piece of kit. Comes with a couple of spare nitrile seals as well if I remember correctly.

You don't say which engine, if it's a 1GM10 then dismantling the pump is quite easy and the seal can be removed although not necessarily in one piece. If the spindle isn't scored you may get away with just new seals, and a new paper gasket as well of course. Do a search on this forum, the question seems to come up quite often. Yanmar agents seem quite helpful with advice etc.
