Been on the boat for the last few days and the plumbing problems continue. The Flojet fresh water pump often would not stop running after using the hot tap, to get it to stop I found turning off the pump at the panel, opening the cold tap, closing the tap then restarting the pump often worked. Any ideas, it often sounded like the pump we full of air, is this possible and how can I sort it?

Do you have an accumulator bottle? My FloJet has an adjustment screw underneath to set the switch off pressure.

I don't think this is a pressure switch setting problem. These are positive displacement pumps that will just go on building pressure until something bursts. It sounds to me that there is debris in the valves of the pump, although your description of the symptoms is confusing. I would start by checking the suction strainer and stripping the pump.
