Does anyone know where i can find a service manual for a PAR automatic multi fixture pump model 37215-6200.I've no idea how old it is or if it's serviceable but i'd like to have a go.The problem is that when i turn it on it keeps running and the pressure at the taps is low,not knowing anything about them I'm thinking either muck in it or the impeller /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think you will find that this is a diaphragm pump (multidiaphragm even) so no impeller to worry about although I guess diaphragms do not last for ever.

The things you should be looking for are muck in the valves (but the pump should have a filter on the inlet side to trap any muck), a defective pressure sensor/ pressure switch. Some pumps have a microswitch that is loaded way way above its correct rating so the contacts can burn or weld themselves together.

In view of the low pressure at the taps the first thing to go for is mucky or defective valves. While you have the thing on the workshop bench though it is the time to look at the other things as well.

If it does not have a filter on the inlet fit one!

You might just find some info on line. Start with the Jabsco website http://www.jabscoshop.com/articles/about_pressurised_fresh_water_pumps/

I agree, it sounds like something blocking one or more of the valves. The pump then does not achieve its discharge pressure, so the microswitch doesn't cut out and the pump keeps running.

When this happened to me it was caused by little bits of silicone sealant that fell into the tank after I removed and replaced the top lid for cleaning. There was no suction strainer at that time but now that I have installed one it is quite amazing how much debris is trapped by it.

Stripping the pump is relatively straightforward, taking digital photos as you go may help you to reassemble it correctly. Everything will come apart, although it's not always obvious how this happens.

The number you quoted doesn't seem to be listed anywhere. But there is a 37215-series pump, and you can download the service instructions here.

had it apart and given it a good clean but my pulsation dampener (oo er mrs) has colapsed on one side so a trip too the chandlers should sort that out. Thanks again for everyones swift help
