My fresh water reservoir had a very simple and cheap water level indicator. It consisted of a Small floater conected to a metálic lever that acted directly on a sort of needle positioned facing a scale . The floater was somehow punctured só it sunk .I want Either to repair it (by finding a suitable floater- the floater is if the old type Polietylen used in fuel car gauges) or. remplace it by anoteher simple and cheap indicator. Any sugestions?

The float in my tank, very similar mechanism to yours, is a plastic bottle, I guess about 100 ml, filled with polyurethane foam. I would think that just the bottle without the foam would be OK if well sealed.
