Has anyone ever installed a warm water system such as C-warm with a Yanmar 1GM10 ? The manual for C-warm say that either direct or indirect cooled engines can be used.

If so have you any advice for installing the water take-off ?

If, as I assume, you are using the engine to heat fresh water for the galley or a shower, it is best to have a second heat exchanger. This will then allow you to run coolant [with antifreeze] through the engine rather than straight water. This is much better for any aluminium components in the engine and will stop them corroding as they would with straight water. Where the coolant leaves the exhaust manifold jacket will be the hottest point, and thus the one to use.
Peter.
