Water damage to heads door veneer?

After you've done any make good repair to the doors I'd consider facing the area that gets wet in a 3mm waterproof sheet material of some sort.

Acrylic sheet may be suitable or one of the 3mm sheet materials used in facing kitchen areas such as Getacore. I used it when fitting out a galley a few

years back with superb results.

Think you will find the door is composite rather than veneered ply and the core is distorted from water getting in. I had mine repaired by cutting away the veneer and laminating veneered ply. Blends in well, but you can see where it has been done if you look closely.

Do you often have guests on your boat wandering round on their hands and knees? ;)

The door is on the port side facing the settee and if the light is shining on it you can see the change in veneer. Also if you look down through the main hatch. Such minor things can become annoying when everything else is near perfect!
