Their new HH cat in for warranty work. Corrosion in the Beta engine caused by “stray currents” Iirc the lightening rod from the mast, tied in to wherever was touching carbon fibre which was then passing stray currents through the boat! This then going to the engine, rotting the zinc anode and intercooler prematurely!

The builder HH has recently released a video. They are standing behind their build and have identified the source of the stray current and rectified it. They are installing a ‘stray current’ monitoring and alarm system to the Wynn’s cat (and I assume all their craft with significant carbon fibre). There was a lot more collateral damage than zinc anodes and engine coolers, there was significant damage to rigging and other stainless steel fittings. HH are going to replace ‘as required’ and reset the clock on warranty. I think the boat must have been fizzing.
