Watching all at sea

No.

As they showed, stuff gets thrown around and broken, and the crew didn't look as if they were having much fun, which defeats the point of pleasure boating.

crazy, not very professional, taking unexperienced crew out in those conditions!! The Sunseeker was getting a real battering, not really showing how seaworthy it is or isn't! most of the contents of the cupboards ended up on the floor, including broken glass, oops not good for the image.

I couldn't understand why the skipper clearly explained why they couldn't use the heads, and then failed to properly stow all the glassware and breakable stuff. I would point my finger at the man not the boat, though it's television of course so a bit of judicious editing can make any point they want.

Although not on camera the skipper would have had a crew member on board, who should have made sure all was stowed securely IMO. Must've been a camera crew too.
Maybe the cupboard door latches arent up to the job. Why did the skipper stay on the fly? I would have been straight down below at the inner helm in the dry.

Just say No ?

"would you have gone out in that boat"

And the point of scaring the passengers silly was what exactly ...if that chancer did not have the self confidence to tell the film crew to FO,then surely he was not doing his job.
Me I would rather go with the skipper of the MTB probably not as many bits of paper or machismo as the Squeeker driver but someone who has nothing to prove or a boat to sell.
Ooo ...and did you them trying to get on and off the boat......£500K and risk breaking your ankle what a wonderful and well thought out design.

Its just TV , so the peeps that are not boaty can see wht happens if stuff aint stored proper etc etc

Crikey MTB 102 looked good though, fair play to the peeps that mended Her

Here, Here. Pity they could not have put the original engines in her then she would have been able to show that sunny what real go is all about.:D

As probably the only person here who was brought up on an MTB and has owned a Sunseeker and had it out in a F8/9 without problems, I'm interested. What are you looking at? Is there a link?

Me thinks

Someone must have tried to get something out of the fridge and not secured it properly but that does not explain the glasses.

Change of subject slightly but I was once very impressed by the fridge on a v large predator (sad I know) but then I should have been as it was a 27K extra......

Ive been out in the North Sea in a 20 year old 31ft corniche with an 8 forecast, come on loads of you have, a forecast of an 8......... 12 hours latter is no big deal if you are only going out for 2 hours in a 6 !

It could have been SW anyway, the 2 miles before you turn the corner may have been choppy , that bit takes a lot of headland amplification from wind and current and they thumped through it at 18-20 knots for effect ( IMHO)

Once round the corner the skipper could have slowed to 10 knots and had a smooth ish passage, thats why he predicted 2 hours to Ramsgate ( 15 miles from dover ??)
The idiot got his crew wet and frightened at the start, I cant think he will get a lot of booking from what should have been a great advert.
He then let them go having endured the 15 miles, got straight off the boat and went to a hotel , missing the marina ambiance , he should have got the bubbly out so they could have laughed the ordeal off.

Mrs DIW made exactly the same comment about getting on and off. 'spose it's designed for med stern to mooring. But agree design needs modification. Pity RM wasn't washed overboard.

Bit of a furk up if you ask me.

On the one hand, what a wasted advertising opportunity, stick your guests out in the cockpit in the cold and wet, tell them it's going to so rough they won't be able to move around the boat or take a pee, bash it across some waves to scare them sheetless and give them a good soaking, smash all the glasses, let them leave the boat at the end rather than keep them there and look after them and finally, moor up so they nearly break an ankle getting off. Can't imagine one single person watching that would have been inspired to take his SWMBO on it for a romantic cruise lol

On the other hand, it didn't actually look that bad. It was only a 5 or 6, with an 8 forecast later. The boat looked to be handling it well enough and the camera crew managed to film it all well enough. Also, the "skipper" stayed on the fly. Couldn't have been that bad or he'd have come indoors (i would have anyway:)).

Seems to me to have been done for effect, but totally stupid IMO, completely pointless portrayal of a trip on an expensive boat.
